What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Zhuhai

How long have you lived there?

almost 2 years

What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?

There are no clubs or organizations here. The expat ladies get together for lunch, exercise, mah jong and different classes. There is a small international school for elementary children. Some expat children go to Chinese schools.

In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.

The expat population is very diverse. There are Europeans, Americans and Asians. There are only a few small churches with services in Chinese. People generally go to Macao for church in English. The local Chinese are friendly and helpful.

What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?

The jobs are with international companies and people have a job transfer to move here. There is not much other work if you are coming here to find a job.

If a friend of yours was thinking of moving to this city or town from far away, what other advice would you give them.

Be prepared to be bored. There is no social life unless you make your own. The hotels have some holiday buffets. There is shopping for those who like to bargain, but that includes every day things you need like fruit and vegetables also. The weather is warm most of the year.
