In Smithtown there is not much diversity - it is also one of the most white towns in New York State. Many people are Italian, Irish or Jewish. It is not a town that is all that accepting of diversity. They have had a few racial incidents

What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?

No industry in Smithtown - Long Island is draw for living there.
