Comments Print

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Princeton

What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?

Newcomers Group, YMCA, Mom's Club

In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.

I would not characterize Princeton as extremely racially or economically diverse, although I have found it to be very culturally and intellectually diverse. People do relocate here from all over the world.

What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?

A number of pharmaceutical and biotech companies surround the area as well as financial and information services companies. The Route 1 corridor is attracting a number of large and medium sized businesses.

If a friend of yours was thinking of moving to this city or town from far away, what other advice would you give them.

It is a great town. I think it's more fun if you have a family (kids, etc) but I think a single person would enjoy it as well. If you feel like you have to be close to NYC then I would try to move closer north (Summit of Morristown) but if you are not planning on going in that frequently, it's fine.
