What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?
None. But, check local press and villagers upcoming events, some are really excellent.
In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.
Very tolerant, but not of women's clothing. Advise them not to wear too revealing or too short cloths, or clothes that define the shape well. Main town markets are good, however village markets intolerant of unaccompanied ladies.
What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?
No jobs for foreigners, locals find most jobs by word of mouth, patronage, and a few, very few, advertised. The advert ones are generally for public services.
If a friend of yours was thinking of moving to this city or town from far away, what other advice would you give them.
Without basic Bengali language skills you will be lost, it's nothing like Dhaka. (it's better)
