Comments Print

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Montclair

What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?

Get involved with the arts! Montclair is a town that cherishes the creative side of life. A lot of people are active in the community, there are many houses of worship. No matter what your interests are, there is something in this town for you.

In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.

Montclair is getting more and more diverse, and it seems to me that many residents are embracing this process and trying to learn how to enjoy the benefits of diversity.

What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?

It's a mix of so many things. Easy access to New York means that people have a lot of options. As I said, many people are involved in the arts. There are so many corporations in New Jersey within commuting distance of Montclair. People's friends and want ads are helpful.

If a friend of yours was thinking of moving to this city or town from far away, what other advice would you give them.

I can't recommend Montclair enough. I am not very objective, to be sure, but it is such a wonderful lifestyle and the people that live here enjoy it so much. Bring your love of life and the arts!
