Comments Print

What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?

Pasadena

How long have you lived there?

4 years

What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?

Any type of volunteer organization in the Los Angeles area, for example L.A. Works: http://www.la-volunteer.org/

Also, visit Old Town Pasadena bars, pubs and museums.

In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.

The town is very diverse. All races and religions are accounted for.

What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?

There are a lot of Internet-related industries. As well as many retail/restaurant establishments. Many people also live here and commute into Los Angeles or Orange County beach towns for employment.

If a friend of yours was thinking of moving to this city or town from far away, what other advice would you give them.

Look very hard for a place to live which is affordable and in a nice area. In Pasadena every other block looks "shady" so its important to contact the local police and get an incident report for your area before moving in.
