What is it like in your country of residence for someone with your relationship status (married/divorced/dating)? If you're single, how do you meet other people? Do English-speaking people tend to gravitate to certain parts of your city?
My current town is a family oriented place. There are single bars.I am a mature man who have grown children from previous relationships. I have lived in the USA since the late sixties, but I am Italian -Brazilian. I am in my early fifties. Retired civil-servent,but still working on a second career.
If you have children, what advice would you give to others making a similar transition to your country of residence?
I would not know what to say. Both of my boys were born and raised in the US. I don't know how it is that someone could raise kids in another part of the world. I was brought to the US when I was 12 years old.
If you do not have children, do you generally spend your social time with other expat couples? If not, what else do you like to do as a couple?
I enjoy friends from all walks of life. I have friends from various ethnic backgrounds.
What would be the best advice you could give someone with your relationship status that lives in your country of residence? Any other thoughts?
To be true to your on culture , but accept new things from your host country. To make your own blend from both life experiences.
