Most parents drive but many students take the bus.
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
The activities in this school are absolutely outstanding. There are many extra-curricular activities such as drama, music, sports teams, art programs, forensics, academic games, AMIS festivals, ISTA festivals, and many more.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
The school has a culture of kindness which is evident among all students and teachers. My child was welcomed and made friends faster in this school than in any of the others she has attended. She was made to feel as if she had been there her whole life and was very comfotable with the transition.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
DAAPA is a parent organization that works for the students, there is also a very capable and able student government in both the middle and high schools.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
Do it. DAA has become the best school in Dubai and I am proud to have a child attending it. Moving her from Emirates International School into this school was the best thing I ever did. The teachers are much more capable and the student life and culture is more appealing. This is an excellent school and I HIGHLY recommend it for your child!
