International- sudents from many countries represented in the school

K to 11

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Most students are bused or walk to school.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

School has computer lab, Science lab and well stocked library. School has tennis courts, basketball courts(indoor and outdoor), gymnasium and a track for track and field events.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

School uses the New Brunswick curriculum adapted for international students. It has a strong ESL program as well.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

School has a Parent Advisory Committee. Also has school dances for the students. The school has organized, with parent help, a Heritage Fair where the students of each grade prepare information, posters, foods etc about a country of their choice. The parents have a Food Fair in conjunction with this Heritage Fair where they bring in Foods from their home country for all to sample. Becoming a tradition at ISSC.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

This school has a sound teaching staff with all teachers have at least one Education degree. It is a great place to educate your child.

The Schools name has changed. It is now called The International School Of Nanshan Shenzhen. It has Grades K-12.
