American, but with mostly Arab students

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
Tons of sports opportunities, new and clean facilities. Swimming pool is great! The school has a new building. It opened in fall of 2006.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
Principals and teachers were very helpful when asked. I am not aware of an organized program per se.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
Lots of barbeques, sports events, school wide celebrations. not aware of any PTA but I was always welcomed by teachers and admn.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
Two of my children have graduated/attended the high school and have gone on to a formal education at good schools in the US.As I read the other reviews of UAS, I noticed an incredible degree of negativity. It is unfortunate that apparently only the pessimists are logging onto this site. I , for one, have a very long and very positive relationship with UAS and would like to uplift her for all of her goodness that she has fostered in so many young people. I have 21 years of experience in the field of education and I give a thumbs up to UAS, her students, her parents, her owner, and all of her employees!

guestAlthough this may be true, experience as a student of UAS for eight years, I have seen a bad community displayed for us students and a bad community from the people that actually work there (a lot of new teachers being biased and counselor being corrupt as he does not enforce discipline well enough, rather than just giving kids who skip detention a slip). One of my years at UAS, I noticed that the majority of the generations are very racist. Two new african americans come into the country and enroll at UAS, they end up being peer pressured all year and as oen of the african americans went back in defence he ended up getting expelled, as for the bullies, nothing happened. Their school is highly unstable and there are only a few decent people at that school, but again, the kids that go there are the ones who mainly make up the school. Just pointing a few things out, there are a few good things such as their Sports Day that helps kids interact and develop life skills, yet again that could easily be ruined for kids in elementary - middle school if they get bullied as the teachers wont do much about it.
guestI am a student at the uas currently. To me, this report is partially correct. UAS is a good school under some circumstances, but, it is the administration and teachers who have spoiled it and are the reason for this decline.
