How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)
Almost everyone drops off their children - the car park can be a total nightmare.
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
The facilities are basic but functional, there is a art room, sport fields, science labs and special areas for Pre-K & K and IB. Plenty of space I guess. There are extra-curricular clubs but it depends on the the teachers can/decide to offer.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
Depends on the individual subject teacher, some will go out of their way to do extra stuff and others will not - there doesn't seem to be an school wide approach.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
There is a PTA with lots of socials - coffee morning and the like.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
It is a nice school, if you get the teachers on your side they will help you out. It has the smallest teacher to student ratio and the only school on the island that provides IGCSE & IB. BGCSE offered at the other schools is not rigorous enough for university entrance in Europe but ok for US (lower to middle tier universities) if you have children of that age.

rpinckney2121I totally agree with the accuracy of this report. Would like to add the children all seem to get along well and this school lacks the bullies found in other schools
guestMy child attended LIS and I would disagree with the comment. There are major bullies in the school. Some of the students (especially in the lower High School/not yet into IB grades) are incredibly snobby and rude. The teachers in the primary levels are really good (on a whole) but once you move into the IGCSE and IB, the majority are not. They are only interested in their passing percentages and tend to make those who are in need of help feel poorly about themselves. I even know of a student who graduated this year that was encouraged to stop taking IB and do only High School Diploma because the teachers thought he would ruin their scores. My child no longer attends LIS. There are much better options on the Island, as well as Online Schools. And, for the price you pay (that of a US Community College) you can get better value for your money. As to the PTA, every announcement includes the alcohol that will be served as the highlight of the meeting. When you have that sort of attitude towards education from the parents, the teachers don't need to take it seriously either. Overall, I would score this as a D compared to the other International Schools that I have dealt with.
