Comments Print

What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

KIS International School

In what town or city is this school located?

Bangkok

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

International

What grade levels are represented at this school?

Early Years, Primary and Secondary

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Some walk, since the school is in a housing estate. Others take the school bus or come by car. Secondary school kids take the MRT and school shuttle van.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Nice campus, green and lots of space. Separate buildings for primary and secondary. Not too big, not too small. It has all facilities needed, like a field, sports court, canteen, pool, tennis courts and theatre.

Extra curricular activities: sports, dance, theatre, crafts, student council, arts and so on.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Moved from British Curriculum to IB. Younger child fit right in, older one took a few months, but is thriving now. We love the IB way of learning, it's really hands-on and teaches kids how to think.

Repatriation- not thinking about that yet. We are likely to move on so IB will be good wherever we go.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

Parents association organises fun events like a car rally, dad's day, mum's day, and so on. Some mums take Jazz dance at school and parents get to join in one of the school's yearly performances. Also lots of things going on in the classroom where parents can help.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Come to visit and see for yourself. It really is a great school!
