Some children have company transportation other make there own way. The school does not provide any bus service.

The facilities are very limited, No cafe, No Gym and a shared playground. Children are sent outside to eat their snacks on some picnic tables when the ambient temperature is minus 18 degrees centigrade or warmer so be sure to bring warm clothes with you. Yes, sounds like some tale from Oliver Twist but at least his school provided hot soup.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Nothing apart from teaching european kids how to count quarters and dimes, without mentioning anything about the use of SI units.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There is a Parent Support Group to help make some decorations for various concerts and shows but they are not permitted to participate in school matters and the group does not include any teachers. The management of this school do not require any input from the fee paying customers as they know eactly what they are doing.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Don't exposure your children to this school, better to consider a rotational assignment and leave your kids at home. Some of the forty year old local Kazakh schools put this very expensive “International” School to shame.

It is shame for someone write these comments without knowing what difficulties QSI teachers has to go to work in this environment. Pay is much lower than any other foreign companies here in Atyrau. Recently one of the sponsor oil companies retracted their transportation from this school. Teachers has to find their taxi and pay from their own pockets. Teachers putting themselves in danger by approaching unknown taxi cubs and most often ripped off. Some parents do not respect the teachers and bossy.

Given the salaries, fancy riverside apartments and perks covered for QSI teachers by our very high school fees, why are parents and students not getting better quality all round! The foreigners teaching PE, Art, Kazakh, Russian, Kindergarten, IT etc. all have questionable if any qualifications apart from being part of a teaching couple. Give this school a wide miss and go to the Dostyk School. Do a rotation or try and get into Dostyk School.

I think this school is great. The teachers work hard and ARE qualified. No school is perfect, even those you think are so wonderful. I have parents at my school who expect their kids to go outside when it's cold, to play and get fresh air. So you can't please everyone. QSI is non-profit and they are a bunch of great people.
