newer Elem. and Middle, Old British and High School, most facitilites adequate, moderninizing taking place in turn

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
It is a demanding school academically and you have to give up most evenings to homework. It has a small school feel although it is growing and that is good and bad--hard to break in and yet a bit hard to make friends. Teachers are supportive of kids but grades are competitive.
