EITHER THE PARENTS DROP OFF OR VIA SCHOOL VANS. IT COULD CONVENIENTLY BE ACCESSED VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORT(BUSES) TOO.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

VERY GOOD, ALTHOUGH THEY CAN IMPROVE/UPGRADE THEM TO MEET THE STANDARDS OF UK SCHOOLS TOO. THERE ARE SCIENCE LABORATORIES, A GOOD COMPUTER LAB, A SWIMMING POOL, COURTS FOR BADMINTON, BASKETBALL, CRICKET, ETC. THERE ARE LOTS OF EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FOR THE STUDENTS, AND THE MANAGEMENT CONSTANTLY ADVISES TO TAKE UP ON THE AVAILABLE FACILITIES AND NOT JUST STICK TO STUDIES.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

THE TEACHERS AND THE SRI LANKAN STUDENTS HAVE ALL BEEN VERY WELCOMING AND HELPFUL TO MY KIDS. THERE HAVEN'T BEEN SPECIFIC CULTURE ADJUSTMENT PROGRAMS. HOWEVER THE SCHOOL DOES PROMOTE THE SRI LANKAN CULTURE VERY WELL, AND ALTHOUGH THE CURRICULUM IS UK BASED, THERE ARE LOTS OF TRADITIONAL SRI LANKAN ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY THE SCHOOL.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

THE PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS EVERY TERM ENABLES US TO MEET OTHER PARENTS AND THE TEACHERS IN THE SCHOOL, AND GIVES US A CHANCE TO VOICE OUR CONCERNS, IF ANY. WE GET TO MEET THE OTHER PARENTS AT THE ANNUAL CONCERT, THE PRIZE GIVING, ACTIVITY DAYS, ETC.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND LEEDS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, AS IT PROMOTES EDUCATION BALANCED WITH GOOD EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. IT HAS A GREAT REPUTATION FOR STUDENT DISCIPLINE IN THE SCHOOL TOO
