What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

Ermitage

In what town or city is this school located?

Maisons-Laffitte (Paris area)

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

Bilingual/International

What grade levels are represented at this school?

Pre-K through to senior school

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Car or walk

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Most facilities in need of basic maintenance and extension/ improvements

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Transition was not easy, extra tuition necessary and in the end my child had to repeat a year after leaving the school.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

Nothing really, there is no PTO. You can meet nice people at the school gate in the primary school, but the school does not organize anything and the headmaster made it very hard for the last PTO to exist (they resigned two years ago and have not been replaced). Integration, if your children are older, is much more difficult.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Talk to as many existing parents as you can, and examine all the other options!
