Private car or school minibus service - some walk from Burgau village
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
Have improved considerably over the years with new custom built primary section, canteen, science lab and theatre. Also has swimming pool and all-purpose games court.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
Placed more emphasis on not just learning but also practical use of a foreign language. Just recently participated in a Portuguese language play about cyber-bullying which was presented to the local council.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
The parents are very supportive and have organised everything from barbecues to bingo! However another feature has been the growing influence of the Students' Council who have organised fashion shows, Hallowe'en celebrations and St Valentine's Day, to involve the whole school community!
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
VVIS is a very friendly and inclusive school but clear parameters regarding uniform and code of behaviour including a clearly structured anti-bullying policy are in place.
