Comments Print

What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

Ecole Montessori Bilingue Saint-Cloud

In what town or city is this school located?

Paris

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

Local

What grade levels are represented at this school?

3 to 12 years old

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Walk

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Very poor

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Non transition program. If your child is a non French speaker the process is to put the kid in one o two grades down, with the small kids. No program for repatriation plus they will not be cooperative in giving you any documentation.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

2 markets a year where parents are invited. No parent-teacher organization.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

If your kid is a non French speaker is a big NO. No timetable for administration stuff, the husband of the headmistress does sometimes the job. By other hand, to enrol your kid, you only need to give the name of your child and transfer the money, quick and no paper work involved.

I agree, and I will add that this report is very soft for what my kid and I went through because of this school. She lost the year in all levels including learning French. Only the English teacher speaks English, no one else in the hole school! You can call it anything except "school" sorry, but it was a horrible experience indeed.

Wow, thanks for the heads-up. I now know that just because a school puts 'Montessori' in its name, doesn't mean it really is a Montessori school. What a world.
