My child loves QSI Chengdu. She is absolutely thriving. The mastery program, while not perfect, ensures student success, which leads to positive academic and social growth. The American curriculum provided a smooth transition for my daughter.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
There is a parent support group of sorts.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
I would absolutely recommend QSI in Chengdu. There were several changes in administration a few years ago, which has led to a structured, stable, positive school climate. Teachers are excellent, school morale is positive, and consistency of education and expectations is exemplary.

guestI couldn't disagree more with this post of QSI. Academics are weak and teacher expectations are low of students. In the High School levels teachers, by large, simply go through the motions. Administration changes frequently and there is a clear disconnection between school leadership and teachers (inmates running the prison so to speak). There are an inordinate amount of non-tuition paying teacher's children attending the school and that takes needed focus away from those who pay the high cost to support them. Caddy and clicky teacher groups make it even less appealing. Poor facilities for High School sports but they do the best they can with the little they have. Strongly suggest you not be lulled into empty promises - check in with CDIS for options
