What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

How did you choose your neighborhood and find your home or apartment?
St Julians/Sliema is effectively the centre of Malta in terms of bars, restaurants, beaches and everything a visitor might want or expect from Malta
Are your housing costs higher or lower than they were in your home country? What is the average cost of housing there?
Rent is about half the price of Dublin, and you get more bang for your buck. Properties for sale are more expensive than you might expect, although still cheaper than Ireland.
