What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?
Rent first, try to stay in downtown area if you like to party or want to be able to walk everywhere. If you live a tad further out, it will save you a bit and you can still get around on your bike.
What type of housing do you live in? Is this typical for most expats in your area?
Now I own my own house. well it's really expensive here... and you have to work a lot just to keep up. A lot of people rent here, it's expensive but most houses start at 300k.
How did you choose your neighborhood and find your home or apartment?
This is a small island so I started in a apartment behind someone's house for first year... loved it . Location was great, price reasonable and it was month to month.
Are your housing costs higher or lower than they were in your home country? What is the average cost of housing there?
Rents are 1000.00+ a month. Houses sell for 300k and up.
