What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

Ask collegues that live in that place to help you find a home. Or just visit a lot of estate agencies and visit the houses/appartments they offer you. Give me a call, I'll be glad to help!

What type of housing do you live in? Is this typical for most expats in your area?

We live in a new house, garden all around. It is typical for a new house in France. It is not like the old houses you find in Paris or in the country side.

How did you choose your neighborhood and find your home or apartment?

My husband asked his new collegues about the neighborhoods. One of his collegues (from HR) helped us find our home, we did a lot ourselves and my father, who lives here already, helped us too.

Are your housing costs higher or lower than they were in your home country? What is the average cost of housing there?

I don't know what the average is, but renting is much more expensive than in the Netherlands. Renting a house is not very common here. The housing costs are twice the price we paid in Holland. Half of it is paid by the company, so we don't pay more or less than before.
