What advice was particularly helpful to you in managing your finances? What advice would you give? Any other thoughts?

Most of my financial management challenge so far has been getting mail from the US and paying bills back in the US. I use online banking services of my US bank, Fleet, and that actually works pretty well for the most part but getting mail and keeping track is a problem. I think the bill receiving and paying service available back in the States might be better since it should eliminate the receiving part of the of the problem. Of course there is a cost associated with that and I am not sure I want to give up or at least lose some of the control.
