All alumni of the University of Edinburgh (i.e. graduates and anyone else who has studied or taught there) living in Italy are automatically members of the EUAAI. There are known to be around 316 people matching these characteristics. The association is totally informal (without by-laws, officers or membership fees) and is intended to be purely social in nature, organising trips and get-togethers all over the country.

What is unique about your organization?

It brings together Scots, Italians and others based on a combination of factors (studied in Edinburgh, living in Italy) which ensures a wide-ranging membership and breadth of interests. No other organisation in Italy covers this ground.

What kind of activities does your group sponsor?

Typically Scottish events (St Andrew's Night, Burns Night, Scottish Country Dancing sessions); trips to beautiful places in Italy to combine a bit of culture, good food and wine and interesting conversation in pleasant company; possibly trips to Scotland for events such as Scotland v Italy in the 6 Nations Cup (Rugby).
