Describe your group.
Since 1994, this group offers a informal meeting space twice a month - usually pot-luck dinners - for gays (expatriates, internationals or tourists). Officially registered at the Geneva Welcome Center, it totals more than 450 members from more than 100 countries and all continents, mainly from the UN and its agencies, covering a wide range of professional interests.
What is unique about your organization?
The GIG is the only gay group or organization in Geneva, and even Switzerland, to be solely dedicated to gay foreigners. It has been founded more than 10 years ago and has grown to be one of the most important in the whole francophone Switzerland.
What kind of activities does your group sponsor?
Activities of this Geneva gay group are: dinners and potluck buffets ("bring your own food and drink") twice a month at a member's place. Usually, about 25-50 people meet (5 to 10% of the total of the members).
How often does your group meet?
Activities are organized twice a month, on the second and fourth Saturday of each month and notified through e-mail (plus occasional cultural events or friendly get-togethers).
Is there a membership fee?
No. No costs are involved.

No, more than 100 nationalities are present. Members speak mainly English (as it is their working language) or French (as Geneva, the home town of the GIG is francophone), but you hear often other languages, such as German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, etc.
