Describe your group.

Pickwicks is a social club, founded in 1978, open to anyone who speaks English.

Membership is not necessary, but members get discounts to some of our events, like theatre evenings, the Xmas party, and the semi-annual "birthday drinks" for members. Membership pays for itself within two or three events.

What is unique about your organization?

We provide both a weekly opportunity to meet other English speakers in the heart of Frankfurt as well as organized activities that take full advantage of the city, the surrounding areas and all of Europe.

Most of us work in the Frankfurt area in professions such as teaching, IT or (as you might expect) finance. Some are long-term Frankfurt residents; others are here on short-term contracts enjoying their first experiences in Germany.

What kind of activities does your group sponsor?

We also offer a wide range of activities to suit a variety of tastes:

• Theatre and concert trips
• Gallery and museum visits
• Sports outings (cycling, swimming, hiking, bowling)
• Disco evenings
• Sightseeing excursions, both in and outside of Germany

How often does your group meet?

We meet for a drink and a chat every Wednesday, from 7:30PM on, at:

Kunstlerkeller
Seckbucher Gasse 4 (off Weissfrauenstrasse, near Willy-Brandt-Platz)

We're usually in the back, up the steps and to the left, although in good weather we will sit outside. (If you can't find us, just ask the staff.)
