Describe your experience giving birth there. What type of facility did you go to? What (if any) type of pain management did you use? How long did you stay in the hospital? Was it a positive experience? Etc...
Well it was a preety much agonising experience, The clinic was horrible (Clinica Meditex) with a Cuban Doctor called Tula. It was a normal labour and I did not receive Epidural injection (they said the Doctor was away). I was there for the normal 24 hour period of observation.

How did you choose your doctor, midwife or other type of medical professional?
The doctor was very bad to me, performed a bad episiotomy...the nurse give an injection (after labour for the pain) in my siatic Nerve and I was unable to walk for 3 weeks (and I had to take further medication for that). I had to do my baby's milk and when I called the nurse for help and provide me with a place to pee, she ignored me and my baby's cry.
The toilet was...ah, I have no word to describe...revolting!!
I did not have much money to pay a more expensive clinic...but I regret immensely the choice I made because after that I had depression...I needed some correction in my vaginal canal (the stiches were incorrectly done)...ah...bad times...
If you were to have another child in this country, would you do anything differently in terms of preparation and/or the delivery?
Yes!!! If I have the opportunity to have my next baby abroad, I will do so. Clinica Girassol is the best for it ( Iam working here at present moment and I can tell that it is the best clinic Angola has)
If a friend of yours living in the same country were expecting a baby, what advice would you give her?
Have it abroad...or choose carefully the place...Clinica Girassol is the best for it. It can be quite expensive, but at least you won't regret like I did!!!!
