I will see new places and be safe. Meet new friends and find new challenges in my career.
How has your expat experience met the expectations you dreamed about before you moved abroad?
I saw many new places and I felt very safe. Making new friends was not easy, as many people around me had a different attitude towards marriage, parenthood and being a friend. The lanuage was difficult and communication by defult also. My career took on a new direction after a year, and original dreams of my career died very soon after landing in Greece. The first two years were lonely and difficult, but Greece and the people of Greece get under your skin after some more years and then you really start to enjoy Greece and after some more years you find Greece and the Greeks hard to forget! Just like the weather here you can get the best and the worst in the Greeks, but in general Greece and Greeks are a very good choice to live in and with!

guestIt is obvious from your writing that you didn't take the time to do a little reading about Greece and its people nor did you stop and attempt to learn a few very important Greek words which helps in foreign countries. A Greek friend gave me a book years ago title "Beware of Greeks Baring", read it on any over night flight. So glad it did. Good luck, take a deep breath and enjoy your life Cheers
