Security situation in Kunduz? on the Afghanistan forum:
What's the security situation in Kunduz? I might be working for an NGO there. Haven't been to Afghanistan before.
stumpy replied most recently with:
Like all places in Afghanistan it is never really secure. You must be aware of your surroundings, never go out alone.
Your employer should be responsibile for your security at all times.
I worked there for 2 years on road construction so have some idea of what it is like to work in a conflict zone.

Wanting to work in Afghanistan on the Afghanistan forum:
Hello everyone hope everyone is doing well. I have currently finished my master of social work and was planning to travel abroad for some extensive professional experience and good money. I want to know know how do I get involved with NGO's that can propectively employ me in Afghanistan. I would greatly appreciate your help.
Hawed replied most recently with:
Thanks for the info and I was thinking about that as well. I do have a few years experience but I am not very well connected when it comes to NGO's. Thanks for your advice once again and take care.
stumpy replied most recently with:
Extremely difficult to get work in Afghanistan if you have not already had some sort of overseas employment experience.
Best you search NGO's online to see if you can first get a job with them elsewhere then think of Afghanistan.
It is because of the inherent dangers associated with working in Afghanistan.
I worked there for 2 years.
