I dreamed that my life would be simpler, quieter, and healthier. I would spend my days gardening or going to the beach or working on my hobbies and I would spend my evenings enjoying the food and wine with my friends. (Continue)

What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?
There is a selection of British and Cypriot bars, these are a good meeting place. Also, the local garden centre which offer tea & coffee at the weekend. (Continue)

What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?
The expat population is mainly British and so there are many pubs. I know of no organizations in my area. I do volunteer at the Argos Animal Sanctuary. The is a walking group in the area.
There are large Russian and eastern European poulations in Limassol and Larnaca. (Continue)

Do you have any advice or thoughts about culture shock you would like to share?
Personally, Cyprus has been very easy to move to. I have not experienced any culture shock. My advice would be to learn the language and meet your neighbors. (Continue)

What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?
Consider renting if you are not concerned about having equity. I actually looked at renting when I first planned my move and decided that buying was better. Now almost 3 years later, renting would have been a better option for me, based on current rental costs. (Continue)
