Study the Holiday Calendar in Argentina

Due to additions in the last couple of years, Argentina now has 19 official national holidays. I have heard that this is the most of any country in the world. And this number does not include local holidays, such as those for a patron saint of your city or town. On these holidays, government offices, banks and many businesses close. It is not unusual for ATM's to run out of cash. Reservations for buses, to say nothing of hotels and other travel facilities, may be inundated or unavailable. One example: On the day before a recent holiday, a friend had to wait in line for two hours to complete a bank transaction.
