If you are in need of special medications, make sure you bring a supply for as long as the product's shelf life will allow. Medicines can be in short supply. They are generally much less expensive IF they are available. I can only speak for the island of Margarita, where I have lived for almost 7 years, but I have found the doctors here capable for routine exams. Dental care is very affordable too.
