Paying the construction workers in Costa Rica

In Latin America, if you are using a building contractor for your new home and paying him in cash, ask for an itemized time sheet for each of his crew. Make sure it includes their hourly rate. Then each pay day, pay each worker individually his share. This method will show them who they are really working for and will garner you respect from the workers.
