Finding a Job in Colombia

I looked for a job for 9 months before I found one here in Colombia. I probably applied to about 100. Two jobs were offered to me while I was in the States, but one of them didn't work out. The other one seemed like a good option, (translating) but I thought it might get boring after a few months, so I began to look for other jobs just in case. Once I got to Colombia, I had 4 interviews, all for English teaching jobs. Each one seemed like a terrible option. I would start work really really early (like 6am) and get off really late (like 8pm) but have a ton of gaps in my schedule and have to travel around the city all day, be stuck in traffic, etc. Not to mention the pay would have been terrible and I wouldn't receive any kind of benefits like insurance. So, I decided to keep looking and not take any of the jobs that were offered to me. Finding a job takes a LONG time. For most foreigners that are native English speakers, it's really easy to find work. But the quality of it might not be so good. Be patient, look for your best option! I used website like tiptopjob.com, elempleo.com, craigslist.com and mainly the Classifieds section of the newspaper. The job I finally found was through the newspaper to work for a bilingual school.
