Unlocked Mobile Phones

If you bring an unlocked mobile phone to China you can simply buy a SIM card at a newspaper stand. China generally has two cell phone companies - China Mobile and China Unicom. Prices for a typical SIM card will run from 30RMB to about 150RMB. If you are bringing over a smartphone and need a data plan, then you'll need to physically go into a China Mobile or China Unicom store. Don't forget to bring your passport!
