Banks in Buenos Aires

Upon arriving to Buenos Aires, I didn't have any cash with me. I arrived on a Sunday but almost everything was closed. While walking around, I saw many banks but I noticed that everyone was swiping a card to just open the door to where the ATMs were located. I assumed that since I didn't have a card from that specific bank that I wouldn't be able to open the door with my card. However, I was wrong. I ended up eating at a McDonalds because it was the only place that I knew of that accepted credit cards. Anyway, I just wanted to let other travelers know that if you doubt if you can get in the bank or not, you can!
