Working Visas/Permits
View/Add Comments (0 Comments) |
Since november 2012, new rules are now in place. There is no longer FM3, FM2s etc. Now there is Residente Temporal, and Residente Permanente. A work permit will be given under Residente Temporal. Here was my nightmare: First i came in under toursist visa and applied for work permit and all my employer's info at the city were I was to work at. Then I was asked to leave the country and go to the nearest Mexican consulate and take the application to them for approval. Then I had to re-enter mexico with a 30 day business permit and then take those signed papers from the consulate to the local city immigration office to complete my work visa application. I got my visa about 30 days later. Total: 5 months.
