Secret Entrance to Cahuita N.P., Costa Rica
View/Add Comments (0 Comments) |
Many people overlook the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, which is so different in so many ways from the rest of the country. If you should visit there, take time to visit one of the countries more scenic parks, Cahuita National Park about 30 mins. south of Limón, the provincial capital. There are two entrances to the park, one just past the town of Cahuita and the other in the town itself. The main entrance past the town charges a fixed rate of admission ($7), but the one in town charges whatever you wish to donate. On our last visit, we donated $4 each.

View CREnvy's ProfileI'm on my third career in life that of being voluntarily unemployed! The first two were house construction and later hi-tech as a software engineer. I was fortunate to be able to retire early in Costa Rica back in '07. With my wife and younger son we bought land and built a dream house with that million-dollar view you hear so much about. We spend time raising coffee, bananas, and fruit trees. My wife is an accomplished artist and has discovered new media to express herself here including beautiful ceramic mosaics. Pura vida! P.S. Now, in 2021, planning our next move ... to México!
