Where Does the Ice Come From

An item sometimes overlooked in eating and drinking is ice. We Americans love our drinks cold, and so often we order an "ice" tea or "ice" bottled water.......if the ice comes from the city water supply, it is like drinking city water. In Cancun, there are filtered ice companies which sell purified ice to restaurants, but you can't be certain if your restaurant buys it, especially outside the hotel zone. Best to stick with beer or tepid cola in these areas.
