Preparing Your Spouse Visa to UK - Part 4

Be sure that you send your visa to the correct place for processing. There are a few visa processing centers and you can find your specific place to ship on the UKBA website. For US citizens applying to enter the UK, you have the option to expedite the visa processing. The UKBA works with a company called WorldBridge which is linked from their website as well. You pay an extra fee (for the spouse visa, it was $300 US) and your application immediately goes to the top of the pile to be processed next once they receive it! I did this and HIGHLY recommend it. I submitted my visa application, biometrics, and supporting documents, and received my visa three weeks later! I promise you that the wait is unbearable once you send everything off so for your peace of mind, this $300 is well worth it. You are sending a lot of personal information to the UKBA including original documents that can't be replaced, so be sure that when you send it, you track it with a signature required when it arrived. You will also need to pre-pay for a self-addressed return envelope which they will use to send your passport and original documents back to you.
