The Panama public education system is dysfunctional at best. It is controlled by the Ministry of Public Education (MEDUSA) which is not know for forward thinking. You will be better off to send you child to a private school (and the fees are cheap by international standards). I know this one since I have a Panamanian daughter and have been a teacher at one of the leading private, bilingual high schools, and have taught at a US satellite university here. Parent beware!
