I would tell them that the private healthcare in Spain is excellence. For a pre-existing chronic condition, some private healthcare may cover at a high costs or excluding them. However, medication cost is very low and it’s possible to pay out of pockets and don’t need an insurance for medication.

Emergency Medical Care in Granada

Emergency care at the private hospital is excellent. I’ve used it and was able to be seen by a doctor and out in less than two Hours. The hospital I used was Vithas and they provided translation service for patients. Most doctors at Vithas speak English, too.

I know of a friend who travels from Granada to Malaga for a cancer treatments weekly for her son. Other than that, I’m afraid I don’t know much about specialist care. I have a private insurance with Sanitas and it costs 80€ per month for a full coverage. I have to see doctors in Sanitas network. I had used the emergency service at the hospital and received excellent care. I also saw a general doctor, and OB/GYN and received excellent care. I’m very happy with the plan with Sanitas
