Charity shops are the American equivalent of thrift stores, but they are smaller and more specifically focused on a charity than Goodwill or Salvation Army. You will see at least five on a high street even in small village towns. Most are operated by volunteers so if you have extra time when you relocate, dedicate it to your community! (Continue Reading)

This was one of the most difficult things for me to get used to as an American - tipping in the UK. Restaurants and pubs are run differently in the UK than in the US. They pay their staff higher wages and also do not always have a dedicated server to your table. In pubs, you will go to the bar to order both drinks and food. Everybody thinks to move to London but where I live is a county named North Somerset.
