Do: Visit the National Park during the dry season for best animal viewing, do a self-driven safari so you can spend as much time as YOU want looking at animals, and talk to others at the hotels to see where and when they saw different animals. DON'T: Try to leave after sunset. The gates to the park WILL be closed, and you will have to hope that one of the hotels has openings. (Continue Reading)

If you don't live in Windhoek and would like to make a trip there, get a rental car or use your own. It is a lot cheaper than the airplane rides if you rent a car for the week, and the drive is about ten/ twelve hours from Oshakati (in the Northern region) if you get up early and drive mostly all day.
