We live in Las Canitas. We love the quaintness of this neighborhood. It is known for all the variety of great restaurants. There are all kinds of little boutiques to shop and a large mall. Argentina is a cash society. Almost everything functions on cash. Being from the U.S., where I almost never carry cash, this was a difficult adjustment. Taxi drivers, buses, and many other business will ask you to give them "sencillo", meaning small change. (Continue Reading)

Banks in Buenos Aires

Upon arriving to Buenos Aires, I didn't have any cash with me. I arrived on a Sunday but almost everything was closed. While walking around, I saw many banks but I noticed that everyone was swiping a card to just open the door to where the ATMs were located. (Continue Reading)

Buenos Aires Nightlife

In Buenos Aires, most people eat dinner at 10pm or later! This was a difficult adjustment. If you go to live with a host family, be prepared to have a snack between lunch and dinner. Buenos Aires is sometimes called "the city that never sleeps". (Continue Reading)
