Ticos, as the Costa Ricans call themselves, are polite and respectful, sometimes to a fault. They don't like to say no directly. They do not want to disappoint you. When you ask directions, of course, this can be a problem! Instead of telling you they don't know or don't understand, they will send you off in the wrong direction. (Continue Reading)
