Prior to getting IN a taxi in Egypt tell the driver where you want to go and then establish the price. Make sure you also identify with the driver if the price he quotes you is in Egyptian Pounds, Pounds Sterling or USD etc. Do not assume the price he gives you will be in Egyptian pounds. Egypt is a modest country and Egyptian women dress with extreme modesty. Even so they are often subjected to sexual harassment. Expats should also wear modest attire. Showing 'skin' (i.e. even upper arms, neck or slight cleavage) is not acceptable and could lead to an Expat being approached by men and being subjected to unwanted sexual advances.
