I am a expat residing in Panama, I recently visited Bogota, Colombia. Bogota in my opinion is great place to visitor and live. But be careful not to stand out as a tourist because there are professional scam artist targeting people who look like tourist. They work in teams of three one will be disguised as a tourist and tried to strike up a conversation with you. The second team member will approach well dress and disguised as a undercover narcotic agent and present fake ID pretending to be searching for tourist who are in Bogota looking for drugs. The third team member will be officially dress and disguised as the second members supervisor. They are real good in what they do, so I would advise not talk to strangers if you are traveling alone because it could be a scam to get your money. (Continue Reading)
