If you don't live in Windhoek and would like to make a trip there, get a rental car or use your own. It is a lot cheaper than the airplane rides if you rent a car for the week, and the drive is about ten/ twelve hours from Oshakati (in the Northern region) if you get up early and drive mostly all day. Etosha Do's and Dont's

Do: Visit the National Park during the dry season for best animal viewing, do a self-driven safari so you can spend as much time as YOU want looking at animals, and talk to others at the hotels to see where and when they saw different animals. DON'T: Try to leave after sunset. The gates to the park WILL be closed, and you will have to hope that one of the hotels has openings. (Continue Reading)

DO: Look up the average weather in your country to determine how hot or cold it will normally be during the seasons. This will make sure you bring the correct clothing and do not pack unnecessary items in your suitcase. DON'T: Assume the weather will be the same as what you're used to. You might regret packing pairs of jeans and fur coats and finding out they're next to useless, and vice versa. (Continue Reading)

Plan ahead. It will be incredibly important. I would recommend to look into houses available to rent or buy online, depending on the length of your stay. This will make the transition to the new country easier, as having a place to call home is much better than dealing with hotels - because hotel food is only good for so long! ;) (Continue Reading)
