Transportation here in Germany is outstanding. As far as the driver's license is concerned, get that information asap. It depends on the state you come from as to what you need to do. We waited more than 6 months, so we had to to the complete course which was very time consuming and very expensive. (Continue Reading)

Honestly, in Paris, it's not worth having a car with the transportation. It's cheaper to rent sometimes and take taxis. Also, I'm almost embarrassed by my fellow Americans who ship their 4x4s from the States. (Continue Reading)

The first time I lived, as an adult, overseas I shipped an auto. It arrived 8 weeks after I did and I had already bought a used car by then. So, the car I shipped was superfluous. When I retired, I brought my pick-up truck to Mexico, but disposed of it after six months. (Continue Reading)

If you live in Hong Kong you don't need a car. The transportation is great. Wonderful bus system and train system. Lot's of taxis too and not expensive if you need to take one. If you have small children though you might consider getting a car cause it is hard to use a stroller etc in Hong Kong. (Continue Reading)
